IT Assistant - Part Time!

Job Description

We are looking for a responsible and professional IT Assistant who is looking to challenge their IT knowledge. 

This is a part time, contract to hire opportunity in the Rocklin area. Hours will be flexible, totaling 20 hours weekly. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Answer help desk phone calls/emails and log support cases.
  • Manage and document Help Desk tickets (open, update, close).
  • Communicate with users in regards to ticket updates and resolutions.
  • Provide tier 1 help desk support and resolutions, and escalate to tier 2 when appropriate.
  • Perform low level IT tasks by following documentation/instructions.
  • Update and maintain IT Inventory database, physical IT inventory and E-Waste.
  • Update and maintain user documentation and manuals.
  • Update and maintain the internal IT Knowledgebase.
  • Train users on basic tasks and provide documentation.

Skills and Educational Requirements:
  • Good communication skills over the phone, email, or chat.
  • Excellent typing and organization skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
  • Experience troubleshooting and fixing problems on laptops, desktops and mobile devices.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows 7 and Windows 10.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
  • Understanding of basic IT concepts such as Wi-Fi, Internet, Bluetooth, Ethernet.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude under time constraints, multiple assignments, and changing job priorities.
  • Motivated to learn new skills and technology.
