Job Description


Job Title: Program Manager
Location: Santa Clara, CA
Duration: 6 months
 
This position is responsible for managing the development and implementation process for software products. Coordinates departmental or cross-functional teams, focused on delivering new or upgrading existing products. Monitors the project from initiation through delivery including planning and directing schedules and monitoring budget/spending. Organizes cross-functional activities, ensuring completion of the project i.e. product on schedule, with high quality and within budget constraints. 
 
Responsibilities:

  • Lead one or more cross functional teams on projects related to new software releases
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining project plans, schedules, and budgets for a release of both hardware and software with on-time delivery
  • Ensures all activities and expectations are properly documented for compliance and reporting
  • Cross aligns and coordinates activities with other organizations associated with development projects
  • Conduct "scrum of scrums' meetings
  • Ensures accurate compilation, analysis, documentation and reporting of project metrics and data
  • Job complexity - works on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles
  • Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
  • Contacts pertain to significant matters often involving coordination among groups
  • Supervision - acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments
Skills / Qualifications
  • Requires a BS degree with  around 5 years of program management experience
  • Project management experience of full life cycle of software development
  • Manage approved program/project through the lifecycle, including change requests, issues management, risk management, and status reporting
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders with differing expectations
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and scrum environment
  • Some of the current tools used are: Jira, Confluence and MS Suite
  • Must be able to work well and cross functionally with project stakeholders, Account Managers, Business Managers, Delivery Managers and support organizations
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to create and present executive level presentations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Solid knowledge of cross organizational business models from a program management perspective
  • Good Knowledge of engineering product development including hardware and software; preferably some level of networking terminology, Security and Certification.
  • Strong experience and advanced coursework in project management
  • Solid experience with developing and maintaining processes and procedures
  • Strong leadership skills including demonstrated experienced in developing high performance teams
  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to promote creative thinking and innovation to achieve breakthrough results
