Job Description


Title: Professional Services Engineer
Location: Remote
Duration: 6+ months to conversion
 
Roles:

  • Provide technical point of contact for professional services throughout an engagement lifecycle
  • Provide technical support, troubleshoot, support, config. And reporting
  • Identify existing and prospective solutions, as well as review applicable of network visibility use-cases, security policies and procedures with the business
  • Work closely with system architects to ensure business systems and applications meet security requirements in preparation for the end-user review; participate and contribute in Gigamon internal reviews.
  • Work closely with end-user technical teams to ensure business systems and applications meet appropriate security standards, policies and procedures
  • Work with other technical network visibility and security team members on policy compliance efforts in accordance, industry privacy and security regulations, and guidelines set forth by, Country, Federal and local laws, as applicable
  • Match the message to the audience when relaying technical solutions to individuals who may not have a technical background
  • Present engagement status reports to management, adhere to policies and practices related to technical guidelines and change management processes, and
Skills / Qualifications:
  • 5+ years as a network visibility/security engineer supporting multi-national organization(s)
  • 6+ years of experience working with mobile carrier - MUST
  • Familiar with API/SDK utilization, JSON, python, dev/ops process, preferably with some background in N/EMS (Network/Element Management Systems) and their in telecom networking
  • Familiarity with one or more of products such as HPOV, SolarWinds, ivanti, Nagios and familiarity implementing SNMP management across large networks.  
  • Language: Python - MUST
  • Large data set reporting and mobile network structure experience
  • Understanding basic networking environment
  • Ability to handle high pressure situations with various key stakeholders and executives
  • Effective working with global, virtual teams with team-oriented interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and interact with a broad range of people and roles
  • Ability to convey technical conversations to non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills

Job Requirements

5+ years of hands-on experience in operational design and deployment of network management tools/application in wide scale networking and/or virtualized networking
Strong working knowledge of network/element management in mobile networks.
Working experience with REST APIs, practical application of SDKs and .
Good knowledge in TCP/IP, L2/L3 protocols, IPv4, IPv6, QoS/CoS, SDN, NFV, SNMP.
Working knowledge of at least one networking virtualization platform e.g. VSphere or OpenStack

Language: Python - MUST
Large data set reporting and mobile network structure experience
Understanding basic networking environment
