Our client is looking for an experienced Network Manager to join their team. 

This position is a direct hire opportunity in the Sacramento, CA. 

This position performs a variety of supervisory, administrative, and technical work related to the architecture, design, build, configuration, and ongoing support of enterprise-level network voice and data hardware and software across more than 80 locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, monitor, and balance daily operations and project tasks for infrastructure engineers
  • Work with PMO to create project plans, milestones, time estimates, and staff allocation
  • Align individuals and teams with company values and goals
  • Ensure that staff have training, communication and tools to work effectively within their team and collaboratively with other teams
  • Guide development of staff by establishing goals and providing coaching and training
  • Work with other departments and with subsidiary staff to understand business needs and business use of technology and applications
  • Establish work standards, policies and procedures to enable system reliability and performance
  • Address service outages through communication with affected staff, development of resolution plans, regular progress reports, determination and elimination of root cause, and incident review documentation
  • Participate in the process to prepare the IT department's annual budget
  • Ensure the network meets business needs and SLAs for availability and responsiveness
  • Ensure that network meets standards for security, performance, and integration
  • Ability to analyze diverse requirements and create solutions to satisfy multiple customers
  • Monitor availability and responsiveness for enterprise network
  • Identify, communicate, and correct deficiencies in network infrastructure
  • Plan and conduct regular maintenance of network hardware and software including evaluation, scheduling, testing, and deployment
  • Evaluate technology trends for relevance to sustain the company's competitive advantage by leveraging technology
  • Manage the life cycle of network hardware and software
  • Understand, evaluate, and support SAAS, PAAS, and other cloud-type offerings
  • Assist with management of network-related inventory, licensing, and maintenance coverage
  • Ensure documentation of systems and procedures to ensure continuity of service
  • Establish and follow procedures for data protection to ensure continuity of service
  • Provide recommendations and implement solutions to increase system security
  • Examine and standardize procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations
  • Collect data and perform analysis to guide technical designs and decisions
  • Ensure adequate planning, documentation, validation, testing, and contingency plans exist for operational duties and project work
  • Assist in training staff in the use of network-related hardware and software
  • Manage complex, enterprise-level projects as needed
  • Provide backup to subordinate staff and related positions as needed or assigned
Additional Qualifications
 
Education and Experience:
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in management information systems, computer science, information technology, or a closely related field; and
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible related experience; or
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience
 
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Thorough knowledge of modern electronic data processing theory, principles, and practices; extensive knowledge of management information systems; knowledge of office automation and computerized financia
