Summary:
The Sr. Systems Engineer will play a crucial role in configuring, implementing, managing and maintaining server/network infrastructure and hosted application environments throughout our organization. This includes performing advanced technical design, planning, and performance tuning of mission critical systems.
The Sr. Systems Engineer MUST have the capacity to take initiative when necessary and provide a proactive approach to the work that must be done. The ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and multitask with minimal supervision are crucial for success in this role.

Required Technical Experience:

  • Hands-on experience of TCP/IP networking including network services, routing, and switching
  • Good backend networking skills (Dell switches, Cisco switches, InterVLAN routing, monitoring and visibility, firewall management)
  • At least seven years of professional, enterprise-level experience developing and administering high-tech Systems/Networks (previous high-tech startup experience a plus)
  • Proven experience designing, implementing and maintaining Linux systems
  • Experience managing VMware Vcenter (i.e. provision virtual machines, VLANS, Alerting, storage provisioning)
  • Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.) management experience
  • Must have SAN (Dell Compellent or Nimble, Performance Tuning) and storage subsystem technologies (RAID) experience
Preferred experience with:
  • Automating and scripting infrastructure processes, with a strong emphasis on Bash
  • Working knowledge in databases (MySQL, Mongo, SQL Server), including provisioning, maintaining, and troubleshooting
  • Redhat Identity Management (X.509 Certificate, AD Trust, HBAC Rules, Sudo Rules)
  • Scripting (Bash or Python)
  • Security (Symantec Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Encryption, Cyberark)
  • Biotechnology/medical terminology related knowledge and/or experience a MAJOR plus!
