Job Description

Immediate need for a System Administrator. This position won't be open long!

  • Design, analyze, maintain and implement server and storage equipment and networks; work on all server and storage installation projects; lead strategic server and storage planning; develop technical policies and procedures regarding server and storage activities.
  • Manages the deployment of appropriate security patches, hot fixes, and software updates
  • Operate and maintain a Windows Server Infrastructure utilizing the latest versions of software and operating systems (e.g. Win2k8R2, Office365, Shell Scripting, Citrix XenApp, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of common services such as: DNS, SMTP, DHCP, HTTP, etc.
Operations and Support
  • Support, assist and train the IT Desktop Analyst Team as needed
  • Provides subject matter expertise in Windows 2008 - 2012 R2 support and implementation
  • Provide day-to-day system administration support including usage monitoring, security administration (OS patch management), operating system and software installations, imaging, and system configuration
  • Works with technical and functional areas to answer questions, resolve problems, and identify opportunities for efficiency gains
  • Working knowledge of common services such as: DNS, SMTP, DHCP, HTTP, etc
  • Provides hands-on technical support related to the overall health and maintenance of the Windows Server environments in support across multiple branch offices

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
6+ Years work experience in IT System Administration & Server support experience.
High school diploma required. Associate’s degree or higher in an IT field preferred.
Knowledge of automated identity management methods
Experience with integration of Office365, vendor management solutions and MS Windows Server.
Deep knowledge of internet protocols: TCP/IP, HTTP/S, SSH, FTP, SFTP, Active Directory Integrated DNS, NTP, NFS, Site and Services
Working knowledge to administer existing NAS/SAN technologies for Fiber, iSCSI, CIFS, NFS
Experience with web application layer security, Web proxy and firewall technologies and Intrusion detection systems
Reliability, customer service proficiency, and ability to respond in pressure situations.
Familiar with databases such as Microsoft SQL Server and/or MySQL database
Understanding of Active Directory and underlying concepts, including GPOs, DNS, FRS, LDAP, Kerberos, sites, forests, trees, domains, trusts, security and resource principals, FSMO roles, etc.
MCSE, MCSA, CompTIA Server+. CCNA, etc. certification a plus, but not required.
Written/Verbal Communication Skills
6+ Years of Desktop/Sys Admin Exp.
Windows/Mac Troubleshooting Exp.
Basic Network Understanding
VMWare Exp.
Backup/Recovery with the major Application Vendor (CommVault, Netbackup, Actifio, etc.)
Primary responsibility will be supporting 100+ desktop Users, assisting the Sr. System Administrator on day-to-day support and projects
