Drives standard product development, including definition, phase scheduling and tracking.
Responsible for the design, development, testing, release documentation and on-going maintenance of the company's hardware products
Managing the day-to-day functions of the Engineering, and Manufacturing departments and ensuring that departmental objectives are achieved.
Responsible for the sourcing, critical evaluation, recommendation and maintenance of the supply of high quality, cost effective, ostensibly "Common-Off-the-Shelf" (COTS) computer peripherals. This includes the identification of, and evaluation of, potential and present suppliers as to their capacities, both technical and business-wise.
Sourcing of alternative components, subassemblies and complete peripherals such as displays and printers for obsolete sections of products in our existing terminal base.
Working closely with the Marketing personnel to continually enhance the Company's existing point of sale terminal products to maintain technological competitiveness in the marketplace.
Fosters a team environment, employee empowerment, elimination of waste, continuous improvement and cost reduction in all areas.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A minimum of 3-5 years of related experience, preferably in product development, electrical engineering, and a manufacturing environment; and negotiating skills a plus.
1. Excellent communication and customer service skills;
2. Ability to act as liaison between the engineering and other departments;
3. Employee and process supervisory experience; and
