Job Description

Windows 10 Technical Project Engineer will be responsible for the technical development, project management, and implementation/deployment of the enterprise migration from Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10 Pro/N, business applications and critical process testing to ensure compatibility with Windows 10, and development of the implementation plan, documentation, training, packaging, creating continual support update plan, and the pre and post-rollout and any other duties as assigned.

  • Successful candidate will work on a cross-functional team responsible for the enterprise-wide migration effort from Windows 7 to Windows 10
  • Understand project goals and high level timing and create a detailed plan
  • Work closely with a wide range of business units to guide them through Windows 10 preparation and execution activities
  • In line with Microsoft best practices, make recommendations for Windows 10 configuration, imaging, scripting and deployment
  • Assess desktop application requirements by department and complete thorough testing to verify compatibility with Windows 10
  • Manage migration tasks following industry-standard practices
  • Act as technical expert on Windows 10 and OS upgrades
  • Document full build and deployment processes to ensure consistency
  • Write scripts for automation, configuration and deployment

Job Requirements

Proven standard project management experience - Required 3 Years
Experience in managing or working in desktop management - Required 5 Years
Project management experience in a large Windows migration initiative - Required 2 Years
Must have proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, and Project
Ability to balance priorities and work well in a team environment - Required 5 Years
Meticulous attention to detail, excellent organizational and time management - Required 5 Years
Superior verbal and written communication skills - Required 5 Years
Strong scripting/programming use of power shell, batch, etc. for automated deployment and cleanup, provisioning and deprovisioning – Required 2 years
Prior experience testing desktop applications, operating systems, images, and software deployment packages
Has technical depth and understanding of Windows 10, use of configuration tools and imaging technologies
Has technical depth and scripting skillsets to package, automate, and test roll-outs
Has technical understanding of Windows 10 options, security and GPO.
