Ledgent Technology is working with a well-established micro-electronics company with a reputation for developing the most advanced and reliable space & satellite products in the market. 

We are seeking an experienced Power Electronics Engineering Specialist to join their San Diego team! 

Overview

The Power Electronics Specialist will play a vital role in assuring projects remain on-schedule. This is very hands-on position; this individual will work with different prototypes and be responsible for testing and trouble-shooting prototypes at the component level as well as collecting data as prototypes hit the lab.

Required knowledge & skills:

  • Test and troubleshoot state of art SMPS and DC to DC converters to the component level
  • Perform component failure analysis
  • Must have deep familiarity with operation of various SMPS topology (i.e. fly-back, forward and full-bridge)
  • Knowledge of Line & Load regulation as it relates to power supplies
  • Ability to identify the difference between MOSFET vs. IGBT and familiarity with the gate-driven criteria that apply to each
  • Experience working at the PFC stage & ability to identify/use the necessary switches for that stage
  • Proficiency with test equipment such as oscilloscope, bench power supply, etc.
  • Excellent ability to solder SMT and TH components    
  • 4+ years related work experience
