Job Description

Title: IT Specialist
Location: Redwood City, CA
Duration: Direct Hire
 
Our client is looking for an individual who seeks to work in a secure, friendly environment where they will create a secure, safe, cost effective IT infrastructure. This candidate must have exceptional communication skills along with above average IT skills across a broad spectrum of IT platforms (from desktops to basic server maintenance).
 
Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site and remote desktop support.
  • Responsible for the day to day operations of infrastructure systems; email, desktop utilities, phones, etc.
  • Oversee the operational management of the Information Technology function.
  • Oversee and ensure attainment of service levels as contracted by external providers.
  • Responsible for developing, executing and managing technology-based audits from start to finish. This will include effectively identifying, documenting, and testing key risks, controls and business processes.
  • Create and maintain IT documentation and SOP's.
  • Review new technologies and methods and recommend appropriate upgrades to management
  • Establish and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Implement and maintain appropriate information protection and access control security measures.
  • Oversee the implementation of robust, scalable Information Technology solutions to support the evolving needs of the business.
  • Manage strategic IT vendor relationships.
  • Prepare and present recommendations and cost benefit analysis on IT projects.
  • Maintain and enhance guidelines for software and hardware procurement and implementation.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot existing applications and hardware; i.e. Salesforce.com, MAS500, office phones, etc.
  • Maintain current software licenses on office and remote user machines.
  • Create and maintain company inventory.
  • Willing to take on other tasks based on company need.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 2-3 years of basic network administration experience including monitoring, troubleshooting and tuning of routers, firewalls, switches, and VPN technologies.
  • Desktop support with at the minimum, Windows and MAC operating systems, Microsoft Suite programs, and other related applications
  • Desktop support troubleshooting - basic knowledge of hardware systems for both IBM and Dell laptop computers. Ability to perform intermediate level hardware upgrades and maintenance.
  • IT strategy and planning experience focused on strategic business goals and objectives.
  • Experience with systems integration and customization for both in-house and vendor supplied applications.
  • Exceptional technical and people skills, and ability to deal with all levels employees including technical personnel, departmental managers, and executive management.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work autonomously making sound decisions that are consistent with organizational objectives.
  • Excellent communication skills in person, by phone, and via email are essential.
  • Outstanding presentation and written skills as well as the ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of technology professionals in a collaborative environment.
