Electrical Engineer
Job Description: In this role, you will be relied upon to perform a variety of engineering and design activities under the supervision of senior engineering staff. This will include the design and development of electrical equipment, components, and building systems. A successful candidate will be self-motivated, organized, creative, and have the ability to multi-task. This individual must have the ability to work as a productive and engaged team member in a fast-paced environment. Strong initiative and follow-through are essential for this job.

Electrical Engineer Job Duties:

  • Perform electrical design utilizing AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Conduct field surveys of existing electrical systems.
  • Perform power distribution design.
  • Design fire alarm systems.
  • Select electrical equipment.
  • Perform submittal and shop drawing reviews; ensure accurate, timely responses to RFI’s. · Document changes and clarifications to scope, schedule, and budget; advise project team. · Review data and prepare recommendations, summaries, and cost estimates for consideration by senior engineers and/or managers.
  • Write technical reports to document engineering analysis and findings.
  • Conduct feasibility studies for proposed equipment and systems.
  • Assist senior engineer(s) in reviewing design and development plans and/or cost estimates. Evaluate engineering proposals and specifications.
  • Conduct on-site technical visits, monitor field installation and testing.
  • Acts as a technical advisor to junior professional staff assigned to the project(s).
  • Coordinate, support, and communicate with colleagues across disciplines and receive direction from project leads.
  • Attends and is an active participant in the design and construction project team meetings. · Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • General understanding of contract and construction documents. ·
  • Knowledge of codes, standards, and construction/engineering processes. ·
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Revit, and AutoCAD.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of electrical design experience for consulting engineer or design-build contractor.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) Certification preferred. · LEED Accreditation.
