SUMMARY

Our North County office is in need of a Java Developer!

We create innovative and reliable digital gaming systems & deliver them to our clients, worldwide.  As a member of the software development team the Java Developer will design, develop, maintain and support the real time/OLTP software products for our gaming systems.

Qualified candidates must be presently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. This company does not sponsor or transfer H1-visa individuals

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Will assume a prominent role as a designer, developer, and mentor for the development of web and mobile gaming applications
  • Conducts analysis of moderate to complicated complexity of programming problems concerning gaming software product applications.
  • Creates design and functional specifications.
  • Provides interpretation of system design and objectives.
  • Converts the final interpretation of design and functional specifications into the appropriate programming language.
  • Tests and integrates new code into the existing software base.
  • Performs debugging of programs and routines.
  • Conducts unit tests on sub-system modules.
  • Assists with final system integration testing, software QA testing, and customer acceptance testing.
  • Creates the documentation necessary to support new and existing software applications.
  • Provides on-site support for field installation and certification of lottery applications.
  • Provides status on project activities to lead staff and management.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelors Degree (B.S.) in Computer Science or equivalent work related experience
  • Minimum of five - ten years of Java programming experience with a focus on web and mobile application technologies.    
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Fluent and knowledgeable in several of the following languages/platforms/libraries: Java (Spring, Swing, etc), SQL, Sybase
  • Strong knowledge of current/emerging technologies and data management: SQL-based solutions, ORM
  • Experience in one of the development frameworks: MVC, MVVM
  • Experience in developing API’s utilizing XML/JSON business object representation and REST architecture
  • Experience in any one of the followings is a plus: jQuery, Node.js, and/or Grunt.js
  • Git/GitHub experience is a plus
TRAVEL

Ability to travel internationally for potentially extended periods of time for customer site installations.  Normal installations range from two to three weeks; however, on occasion, the period of time may be longer.

AFTER-HOURS SUPPORT

Ability to carry a company mobile telephone.  Employee is expected to be able to respond to after-hour calls to support customers in different time zones.
