Employment Type: Contract to Hire

Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000

We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join our team in support of one of our valued clients based in Hillsboro, Oregon. This fully on-site role offers the chance to work within a large, enterprise-grade network environment, contributing to infrastructure operations, design, and optimization efforts alongside a collaborative and experienced IT team.

Position Overview:

As a Network Engineer, you'll be responsible for the maintenance, support, and continuous improvement of enterprise network infrastructure across data centers and branch locations. Your focus will include day-to-day network operations, patching, troubleshooting, and the implementation of new technologies. You will also collaborate cross-functionally and play a role in mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and support data center switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Design and document network infrastructure, including branch and data center layouts and diagrams.
  • Monitor and address network outages and performance issues in a timely manner.
  • Manage configuration and version control for all network hardware.
  • Partner with internal teams and vendors to support and enhance network capabilities.
  • Coordinate with circuit providers to resolve connectivity issues.
  • Share expertise by mentoring junior engineers and contributing to knowledge transfer.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for critical incidents and escalations.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented work culture with a focus on continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
  • 7-10 years of experience supporting Cisco-based enterprise networks.
  • Advanced knowledge of routing protocols (TCP/IP, VRFs, BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, EVPN, GRE).
  • Proficiency with SD-WAN technologies, switches, APs, and MX devices.
  • Experience with Cisco Nexus 9K, ISR, ASR, and Catalyst series.
  • Strong understanding of network configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Cisco ACI and F5 load balancer experience preferred.

· Experience with various automation or scripting tools (Ansible, Python, ADO) preferred.

  • Familiarity with Azure VNETs and hybrid cloud connectivity preferred.
  • Familiarity with Palo Alto Next Gen firewalls and Panorama preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and a customer-first mindset.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000 annually (based on experience and qualifications)

Benefits are effective the first of the month following hire for associates regularly scheduled to work 30+ hours per week.
