Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled IT Equipment Technician to join our port automation repair team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting hardware systems essential for our automation processes. This role will involve working closely with our IT, Automation, and Operations teams to ensure seamless operation of hardware components within our automated systems.
Key Responsibilities:
? Install, configure, and maintain hardware components including but not limited to; industrial devices, Windows PCs, Tablets, LTE Hardware, proprietary hardware, and much more.
? Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware issues to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted operation of port automation systems.
? Perform routine maintenance tasks such as hardware/software upgrades, patching, and preventative maintenance.
? Work closely with stakeholders to understand hardware requirements for new projects and provide technical expertise during the design and implementation phases.
? Create, develop, and maintain documentation related to hardware configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and system upgrades.
? Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and internal stakeholders regarding hardware-related issues.
? Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend hardware solutions that optimize efficiency and performance.
Qualifications:
? Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
? Proven 2 years of working experience in IT hardware support, preferably in an automation or stevedoring environment.
? CompTIA A+ and Network+ are highly desired.
? Strong understanding of hardware components such as servers, switches, routers, and industrial sensors.
? Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware issues using diagnostic tools and techniques.
? Experience with network protocols and configurations (TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, etc.).
? Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders and clients.
? Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
? Flexible schedule as needed, we are a 24/7 facility, must be fine with working graveyards and weekends.
? Must be able to qualify for a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) and pass an internal background screen.
