Job Description

We are hiring a Senior Android Developer who is well experienced with Kotlin/Kotlin Multiplatform to start immediately for a 6+ months contract position. This can be a remote position.

This is a full-time contractor position. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in developing new features and maintaining our enterprise access control solutions. Our solutions allows fans to scan into events using various methods, including facial recognition, NFC, mobile, web, and paper ticketing. Your primary focus will be on frontend development using Kotlin Multiplatform, though you will also handle backend tasks as needed. You will be responsible for writing clean, concise, modular code in an agile environment, performing code reviews, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. This role may involve working with Cloud Firestore, integrating vendor SDKs, and setting up monitoring tools.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop, monitor, and maintain Kotlin Multiplatform code that runs on a variety of platforms and devices.
  • Willingness to lead medium/large projects
  • Provide thorough and timely code feedback to peers
  • Take concepts and put them into practice
  • Proactively identify and unblock issues
  • Integrate and maintain vendor SDK's
  • Participate in the full lifecycle of software development (requirements gathering, designing, developing, testing, deploying, operating, supporting and maintenance)
  • Work closely with the Product management and Integrated Services team to design new features integrated into the platform
  • Triage operational issues when they arise
  • Perform server-side tasks as needed, including setting up monitoring tools and managing remote data
  • Participate in short term planning of software projects
  • Ensure high standards of code quality, performance, and reliability

Position Requirements:

  • At least four (4) years of Kotlin programming experience
  • Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform
  • Strong experience in frontend development
  • Proficiency with the Android SDK
  • Experience in server-side development
  • Strong working knowledge of continuous delivery and build automation tools
  • Experience working with remote data via REST APIs and JSON
  • Ability to setup and manage monitoring tools, such as DataDog
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to unblock issues proactively
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Experience with agile development methodologies

Nice to have:

  • Experience with peripherals
  • Working knowledge of Linux
  • Experience with MDM management and integration
  • Experience using Cloud Firestore
  • Experience monitoring production software using DataDog
