Job Description

Ledgent Technology is seeking a Java Software Engineer on behalf of our client in the healthcare SAAS sector. This is a fully remote role, the ideal candidate will preferably sit in either EST or CST time zones.  


Position Overview: 


In this role, you'll be actively involved in various phases of the software development lifecycle, encompassing tasks such as gathering project requirements, creating specifications, designing, coding, testing, deploying, maintaining, and documenting software projects within our organization. Collaborating closely with Software Architects and Engineering Management, the Software Developer will ensure software compliance with regulatory guidelines and client-specific requirements. Staying updated with relevant technology, standards, frameworks, and workflows is crucial to meeting deadlines efficiently with minimal supervision.


All team members are expected to foster a culture of collaboration, open communication, situational awareness, and shared responsibility for our collective goals.


Job Responsibilities:
 

• Lead in program design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation with minimal oversight.
• Adhere to established software development processes and the software development lifecycle, incorporating best practices.
• Provide management with task breakdowns, effort estimates, and dependency assessments for assigned project components.
• Regularly provide status reports to management and escalate any risks promptly to ensure project schedules are met.
• Offer support for production systems, troubleshoot and resolve issues, and configure systems within the computing environment.
• Investigate and resolve production issues promptly while adhering to service-level parameters.
• Bring innovative approaches to software design and implementation.
• Contribute as a team player to the success of the department and the company.

Qualifications:
 

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of 3 years of practical experience in Java Development.
• Demonstrated expertise in web application development, relational database concepts, and programming.
• Emphasis on teamwork and achieving group objectives.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Display situational awareness, empathy, and a customer-centric mindset.
• Proficiency in back-end programming.
• Familiarity with front-end programming languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Experience with relational database concepts and programming.
• Familiarity with Apache Tomcat is advantageous.
• Experience with Linux is a plus.
• Knowledge of Java Spring and Hibernate is a positive addition.
• Familiarity with MySQL is beneficial.
• Experience in the healthcare industry is a bonus
