Ledgent Technology is seeking a Sr. Network Engineer, in partnership with our client in Pembroke Pines, for a 3-month contract-to-hire opportunity. This position offers the possibility of direct hire for highly senior engineers who have demonstrated longevity in their current or recent past roles. The engineer will play a key role in ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the client's modernizing network infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on healthcare-specific technologies.
§ Design, deploy, and maintain complex LAN, WAN, and WLAN network infrastructure within a healthcare setting, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations when needed.
§ Lead network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hotfixes, and security configurations, particularly focusing on ensuring the security and integrity the organizations EHR Systems
§ Experience with tools like SolarWinds, Wireshark, or similar network monitoring tools is a bonus
§ Explain highly technical IT infrastructure concepts to non-technical stakeholders, including healthcare professionals in a patient care environment
§ Lead new projects that may include the rollout of new telehealth systems, upgrades to PACS
§ Provide support and mentorship to junior staff and other departments when needed
§ Knowledge of Ubiquiti Hardware, including Unifi, EdgeMAX, and AmpliFi
§ Expertise with HL7 interfaces, VPNs for remote diagnostics, as well as other healthcare related technologies
§ Strong background in virtualization. Deep working knowledge of VMware or Hyper-V, and how they intersect with network infrastructure in a healthcare environment
§ 4+ years of AWS or Azure experience, to support the hybrid cloud infrastructures currently in practice
§ CISSP Certification is a strong bonus and will be given thoughtful consideration. Experience with NIST will also be given preferential consideration
This is a 90-day contract opportunity with the potential to be converted into a permanent position.
The role may involve occasional evening or weekend work to resolve network issues or complete upgrades. You will also be within the on-call rotation, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
