Role: Systems Engineer (Mid & Senior)
Salary: $100-130k (actual pay within this range depends on experience)
Type: Full-Time / Direct-hire
Schedule: Remote (MUST reside near Data Center in Salt Lake City) | 37.5 hour work week! Flexible start 8-9am MT
Location: Salt Lake City, UT

We are partnered with a leading organization seeking Senior Systems Engineers to join their team.
 
You will be part of a remote team of nine Systems Engineers reporting to the Systems Manager.
 
This role is fully remote, with onsite only as needed at Data Center in Salt Lake City, UT.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Architect, build, & support hybrid IT environment (servers, storage, networking, applications, monitoring, security, cloud services)
• Evaluate IT solutions, develop proposals, & present to department managers
• Manage day-to-day operations of systems, including implementation, administration, architecture, & documentation
• Improve stability, scalability, & performance of systems & infrastructure
• Utilize technologies to enhance overall system performance
• Participate in asset management lifecycle (procurement, inventory tracking, utilization, disposition)
• Create & maintain support documentation, operational processes
• Monitor system health, troubleshoot, resolve, & escalate issues
• Ensure security best practices are followed
• Perform software & hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, reconfigurations
• Stay updated on industry trends & competitive advantages
• Maintain knowledge of modern technologies.

 
Key Qualifications:

•  4 Year IT related degree, or High School Diploma plus 4 years of additional relevant experience
• Current technical certification (MCSE, ITIL, or other relevant industry certification)
• 8+ years implementing/administering Windows systems in an enterprise environment
• 8+ years experience with cloud technologies & understanding of SaaS, PaaS, & IaaS
• Hands-on software & hardware troubleshooting experience
• Technical knowledge of network, server, & storage infrastructures
• Experience with core infrastructure systems administration (virtual servers, storage, backup, print services)
• Configuration & management of enterprise data protection platforms (Veeam, Zerto)
• Familiarity with compliance standards (PCI, HIPAA, ISO)
• Ability to automate processes with scripting (PowerShell, Python)
• Knowledge of configuration management tools (Microsoft SCCM, DSC)
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMWare, Hyper-V) & Windows Server technologies (clustering, storage pools, IIS, DFS)
• Proficiency in Active Directory administration (Group Policy Object, Organizational Units)
• Experience with various storage technologies/vendors
• Experience with data management & storage protocols
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (Solarwinds, vRealize, PRTG)
• Effective communication with all levels of the business & external vendors
• Documentation & maintenance of configuration & process information
• Planning & implementation of disaster recovery/business continuity solutions
• Technical escalation point & Level 3 support for network issues
• Collaboration with application & security teams for a secure technical environment
• Issue tracking & resolution through ticket tracking system
• Ability to work independently & under supervision
• Participation in on-call rotation

 
Salary: $100-130k (actual pay within this range depends on experience)
