Job Description

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 


* Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve complex or manual billing issues.


* Analyze errors/issues to identify the root causes and develop mechanisms to minimize or eliminate future issues  


* Configure, analyze, and resolve billing system configuration tables, as well as billing script issues.


* Design/create SQL reports to support business analytics and issue resolution


* Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve complex EDI issues that directly impact the billing system


* Serve as business lead throughout the SDLC process for billing system maintenance and enhancements, including requirements, design, testing, and production deployment


* Serve as primary liaison between SES IT and billing system vendor project management and development resources


* Mitigate impact and ensure billing system is able to support all product, market, and regulatory changes


* Collaborate and coordinate with cross functional teams on new initiatives or projects


* Continuously think about methods to improve operational activities.


* Provide cross-functional support to peers and departments to develop satisfactory end-to end delivery processes and results


* Drive process and system improvements in the operations arena or areas that impact team success.


* Work with various stakeholders on new market entry and new product design.


* Monitor and troubleshoot FTP scripts, billing system batch and print processing logs. 


* Monitor and troubleshoot Windows Task Scheduled jobs. 


* Monitor and troubleshoot web services. 


* Monitor, schedule and execute custom applications supporting the billing system.


* Other duties as assigned


 


ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

* Bachelor's degree required


* Requires a minimum of 2-5 years of management experience with a proven track record of organizational success.


* Requires experience and a deep understanding of the retail electric market, particularly focused on operations and complex product structures.


* Advanced Excel and SQL skillsets (Microsoft SQL Preferred) 


* Experience with VBScript, C#, HTML/CSS, JavaScript 


* Experience with reading and understanding EDI transactional data.


* Extensive application support experience and strong database analysis skills.


* Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and critical thinking skills; must be able to provide timely and accurate data analysis.


* Understanding of database structures and how/where to extract data


* Understanding of data lake applications 


* Ability to synthesize and translate large volumes of data into actionable and insightful communications


* Learner mindset and eye for continuous improvement needs.


* Strong business writing skills and experience developing communication in various formats.


* Excellent analytical, organization and time management skills, with the ability to maintain a strict level of attention to detail


* Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships


* Self-motivated with the desire to consistently improve performance and gain further knowledge


* Ability to meet deadlines, learn quickly and demonstrate effective problem solving and follow-up skills


* Ability to work well within a team environment and demonstrate a vested interest in team goals and objectives
