Title: Network Engineer Consultant
Location: Beaverton, OR - Onsite
Job Type: W2 Contract
Pay range: $45 - 60 per hour
Ledgent Technology is partnering with a key employer in Beaverton Oregon for a Network Engineer Consultant for a contract position. In this role you will look at existing architecture and plans for a SD-WAN implementation and offer suggestions for improvement. We are seeking a Network engineer with 3+ years' experience with network design.

Job Duties
- Inspect current network design
- Suggest network reconfiguration based on best practices for companies of our size and industry
- Vet current hardware or suggest possible equipment changes based on current size and expected growth
- Spearhead, assist, or guide implementation of suggested network improvements
- Suggest continued security/access improvements
Technologies currently in use- Cisco (end of life)
- HP/Aruba L2 and L3 switches (mostly ProCurve with CX coming in with new equipment)
- Typical switch uses spanning tree, loop protection, dhcp snooping, snmpv3 only, radius auth
- SonicWall Firewall
- Extreme Networks Aerohive
- PRTG system monitoring active
- Sprint/T-Mobile MPLS network end of life
- All primary sites will be dual ISP (in progress)
Upcoming technologies- VeloCloud SD-WAN (proposed provider: RapidScale)
- CradlePoint
Proposed configuration augments- Radius/NPS authentication for network management (in progress)
- 802.1x for endpoint authentication, specifically wireless, may extend to standard desktop
- Continued migration to 10gig backbone and links to desktop/edge layers (mostly through switch attrition and growth)
