Role: IT Service Support

Position Type: Temp-to-Hire

Location: Springfield, OH - onsite

Annual Salary: $70K-80K

Summary

The Technical Support Representative is responsible for providing expert-level technical assistance and service to our customers seeking information and support for a wide range of products. Leveraging your strong technical expertise and communication skills, you will ensure that customers receive timely and accurate assistance, fostering positive customer experiences and long-term satisfaction.

This is an exempt, individual contributor position reporting directly to the Technical Services Manager, with no direct reports or supervisory responsibilities. The role involves regular interaction with internal employees at all levels, as well as external dealers and end-users.

Essential Job Functions

  • Respond to technical support inquiries and provide technical assistance with our forklift attachments over the phone.
  • Assist various dealers with product-related troubleshooting questions.
  • Diagnose hydraulic, mechanical, and electronic malfunctions and assist with the required solutions.
  • Assess issues objectively and make rational decisions concerning products, quality, and customer relations. Prioritize customer satisfaction while adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in team functions and contribute technical opinions/expertise where required.
  • Recommend process improvements to increase job efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ability to travel as required on a scheduled and non-scheduled basis.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in technical support, troubleshooting, or field service within the forklift industry.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience working with hydraulic or mechanical systems.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot and diagnose problems/issues over the phone and seek additional information necessary to resolve issues.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field preferred.
  • Solid understanding of hydraulic, mechanical, or electronic systems.
  • Strong mechanical & electrical aptitude.
  • Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Self-motivator.
  • Basic computer skills, including Windows and MS Office.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, hydraulic, and electrical schematics.
  • Ability to work with basic hand tools.
  • Ability to effectively address customer inquiries and concerns in face-to-face interactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to actively participate and contribute in a collaborative team environment.
  • Product knowledge preferred.
