We are looking for a Security Engineer to start immediately with a leading Technology company in midtown Manhattan, NY. This will be a 3 days on site per week position. We are open to either Direct Hire or Contract to hire candidates. (NO C2C or Sponsorship).

Required Experience:

  • Looking at Threads, Vulnerability Management, manage the Alerts that comes up within the environment, responsible for day to day security task, watching/monitoring the environment
  • Familiar with SIEM Solutions, the company is using Splunk Enterprise
  • Recently Experienced working within an Agile Scrum environment, need to come from a regulated Enterprise environment
  • Cryptographic management and solutions experience with SSL Certificate
  • Ensuring the environment is operating and detecting any treads that may come in
  • Good communication skills and able to collaborate with other team members
  • Absolute must knowledge operating in a MS Windows and Linux Environments 

Preferred Experience:
  • Experienced within the PCI Regulated Enterprise environment/PCI Compliance is HIGHLY Preferred
  • Scripting/Automation experience (such as Batch, Shell Scripting, etc. )
  • DUO key management (Private Key/Pubic Key)
  • Experienced with Web Application Firewall (WAF) 

The Security Engineer will play a critical role in shaping the security posture and standards for our IT staff, risk management stakeholders, IT managers and staff. This role will be responsible for securing company applications, hardware, software, operating systems, and all other infrastructure systems. This position will provide governance and leadership, as well as facilitate integration solutions for various enterprise IT teams to ensure projects and company initiatives are conducted according to company information security standards. Collaborate with other Security Engineers to proactively investigate threats before they occur rather than simply reacting to ensure a frictionless experience. This Security Engineer will also champion Information Security projects including security audits (PCI, SSAE-18, etc.), with a focus on application security, cloud security, automation, risk analysis, vulnerability testing and security reviews on company's infrastructure and systems.

Technologies and Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent) is required
  • At least five (3) years of information security operations, information security architecture and security policy management and work experience in the following areas:
  • Develop and maintain information security standards and procedures to help ensure that information assets are adequately protected and the company is compliant with industry best practices
  • Work with departments and senior management to implement practices that meet Company standards for information security across various operating departments
  • Run vulnerability/gap assessments and make appropriate recommendations to ensure adequate levels of service and security
  • Analyze and diagnose problems relating to a wide variety of hardware and software issues operating across a range of platforms
  • Audit firewall policies
  • Identify projects/initiatives to enhance the Company's security posture and mitigate risks in a UNIX, Windows, Cisco operating systems based environment.
