Senior Release Engineer
Compensation: $110k-$115k
Location: Portland, Oregon

 
Our client has an opportunity in its growing and talented Release Engineering team. We are growing quickly in 2021 - and beyond - and our Release team supports several dynamic internally developed products. In this role you will architect and implement release techniques and tools that will help set, not meet, industry standards. As a Release Engineer, you will be using your expertise and voice to guide the company on how to best maintain and evolve the solutions supporting our teachers, our business, and our families. This includes CI changes, cloud-readiness and movement, and constant improvements in our technologies. Come prepared with your ideas and experience, because nothing is off the table.
Responsibilities include: 
*    Define and support end-to-end release processes, from dev-complete to released.
*    Engineer automated methods to deliver functionality into production. 
*    Drive innovation in CI/CD to improve quality and velocity of our releases. 
*    Prepare configuration/release plans and procedures, and communicate changes effectively. 
*    Occasional off-hour work for emergency production support or deployments.
 
Qualifications

  Required skills and experience: 
*    Bachelor's Degree with at least 7 years' relevant work experience OR 10 years' equivalent relevant work experience
*    Strong Windows and PowerShell experience
*    Functional understanding of Release Engineering and DevOps concepts (Build, Provisioning and Deployment, CI/CD)
*    Experience with Bamboo, Octopus Deploy, Atlassian, MSBuild tools
