Job Description


The Data Storage Architect is responsible for laying the foundation to allow multiple systems to share data as a basis for a cohesive and comprehensive system architecture. This requires expertise in designing and implementing enterprise-level database and data warehousing systems. The hands-on role requires the ability to understand multiple existing data schemas and design both a common schema that can be shared by all, and the development of the ETL tools to make that happen.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Data Storage Architect will be responsible for a broad swath of duties and responsibilities including:

  • Documenting a wide array of data schemas on differing technology stacks
  • Designing a data warehouse that can capture the various data from different areas of the organization
  • Development of ETL processes to and from the data warehouse
  • Development of efficient stored procedures
  • Recommendation of tools and technologies in support of this role

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

REQUIRED
Qualifications and skills include experience with the following:
  • 5+ years of database administration or similar
  • Has lead design of enterprise-level Datawarehouse solutions
  • ETL Development in SSIS or similar
  • Stored procedure development
  • Management of a database the cloud


PREFERRED
  • Specific experience in MySQL, SQL Server, or AWS RedShift
  • Experience in both Azure and AWS environments
  • Database security practices and implementation
