Seeking candidates in the following locations:

  • Sterling or Manassas, VA

Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

Schedule: Hybrid (3 days in office)

Travel: 10%

Compensation: $160k - $175k + 20% bonus

As a Network Architect, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's complex network infrastructure. You will be responsible for deploying, monitoring, upgrading, and supporting highly available, secure, and scalable networks that meet the business's operational technology services and corporate networking needs. This role requires a deep understanding of network architecture, protocols, security practices, and emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Network Architecture Design: Develop and implement strategic network architecture designs for local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and other networking components to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and security.
  2. Network Infrastructure Implementation: Install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and other network devices to support business operations and ensure seamless connectivity.
  3. Network Performance Optimization: Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks or issues, and proactively implement solutions to optimize network performance, enhance reliability, and ensure high availability.
  4. Security and Compliance: Implement and manage network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, VPNs, and access controls, to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  5. Incident Response and Troubleshooting: Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for complex network and system-related issues, conduct root cause analysis of incidents, and develop preventive measures to minimize future occurrences.
  6. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Prepare regular reports on network performance, security incidents, and other relevant metrics for management review.
  7. Technology Evaluation and Integration: Stay up to date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices. Evaluate new products and technologies and integrate them into the network infrastructure to enhance performance and functionality.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, or related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience as a network engineer or architect in an enterprise or data center environment.
  • 10+ years in network design and deployment experience is a must.
  • Extensive experience with Juniper networking and proficiency in scripting or coding (e.g., Bash, Python, Ruby) to automate network tasks.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, security principles, and best practices. Certifications such as JNCIP are a plus.
  • Experience with data center networking, virtualization technologies, cloud networking (e.g., AWS, Azure), and software-defined networking (SDN) is highly desirable.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· JNCIP Certification

· Data center experience is a plus
