Ledgent Technology is partnered with a cutting edge micro-electronics company in need of a Mechanical Engineer to join their team in San Diego. In this role, you will be responsible for designing mechanical enclosures for electronic components (e.g. PCBs / CCAs) that can withstand harsh environments. You will be leading New Product Designs, supporting customers, developing and implementing design process, and improving existing products. You will drive NPD from concepts to release to meet or exceed product performance, customer's requirements, schedule, and within budget. Interface with management and customers as required.

•3-5 years of Mechanical Engineering & Design experience
•5 + years’ experience using Solidworks for Drafting, 3D Modelling, Design and Simulation purposes
•Previous experience designing enclosures of electronic assemblies (e.g. PCBAs)
•Previous thermal, shock and vibration design and analysis experience using Solidworks.
•Experience performing thermal, shock and vibrational analysis for electronic assemblies
•Experience with design and simulation of circuit card assemblies (CCA) enclosures for extreme environments
•Familiar with electronic and electrical components (PCB's, connectors, BGA's, SMT components)
•Proven drafting, GD&T and documentation skills and knowledge using Solidworks.
•Strong understanding of engineering materials (steel, PCB materials, adhesives, solders, etc.)
•Some understanding of electronics theory and practices also a plus
