Job Description

Job Description
David Weekley Homes is looking for two experienced developers who want to share their knowledge and learn new skills in a fun, intense and challenging environment.  While experience is appreciated, the ability to learn and apply new technologies is equally important if not more so.

If you understand the significance of the number 42; if you've ever dreamed of traveling in a blue British police box; if your license plate reads NCC1701; if you cringe (or laugh) when seeing an order number 66; if more of your friends call you by your gamer tag than your given name - there is a good chance you are a good fit for this position.

The CandidateWe are looking for:

  • A good fit with our team. We need someone the team can trust, rely on, hang out with, bounce ideas off of, and generally interact with in a positive way both personally and professionally.
  • An incredibly hard worker. You reliably see tasks through to the end, without supervision, and ask for more. You know when to ask for help and you give bad news early.
  • On any given day, you may be helping the team design new features or improvements to existing features, developing consistent and intuitive interfaces or fixing a CSS bug in supported browsers.
  • Have a keen eye for user experience design. Strive to design and implement applications that are intuitive even for first-time users.
  • Specifically, talented in a programming way. You can visualize solutions to problems big or small.
  • An effective communicator. You effectively explain concepts, written and verbally, to other developers and non-technical peers. A whiteboard is the natural extension of your brain.
The PositionYou will be required to:
  • Participate in daily Scrums, regular retrospectives and iteration planning, and other as-needed face-to-face and/or video-teleconferencing sessions.
  • Participate in architecture discussions, design decisions and provide input into all aspects of the system.
  • Write clean code with good nomenclature, sensible tests and comments when necessary.
  • Write unit tests, integration tests, and acceptance tests.
  • Implement new features and fix bugs for both existing and greenfield applications.
  • Work within and help evolve our continuous integration pipeline.
The Technical:You need to have or know:
  • Have a strong sense of urgency and pride of ownership of your deliverables.
  • An ability to solve complex problems, collaborate and communicate clearly.
  • The capacity to thrive in a small, flexible and dynamic environment, contributing to a high performance, low-stress corporate culture.
  • Exceptionally talented and passionate about HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • In depth knowledge of libraries like Vue, React, Knockout or similar.
  • Knowledge of C#, TypeScript, ASP.NET MVC, Razor and MVVM design patterns
  • Basic proficiency with SQL.
  • Git (or other distributed source code management tools) knowledge.
It would be nice for you to have or know:
  • Agile processes
  • Domain Driven Design
  • Continuous Integration Practices
  • TypeScript and LESS
  • NPM
  • iOS/Android development with ObjectiveC, Swift, Java, Xamarin or ReactNative
  • Azure
The TeamWe work hard, we have a good time, and we go home. We're all geeks about something, whether it's games, comic books, sci-fi, music, wine, beer or sports.
  • We have laptops, dual monitors, solid state drives, and plenty of RAM.
  • We use Visual Studio Enterprise, GitHub, TeamCity, YouTrack, Azure DevOps.
  • We have MS
