Our client who is a powerful logistics platform is currently seeking an onsite Global forwarding agent in Long Beach CA.

The Global Forwarding Agent (GFA) oversees the shipment lifecycle for assigned accounts, ensuring timely and accurate responses to customer needs. They manage tasks, communication, and reporting to ensure account success.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Operational Excellence:
    • Understand international shipping processes, documentation, and terminology.
    • Input financial components for accurate billing.
    • Adapt processes to overcome challenges.
    • Coordinate tasks to meet customer SOP requirements.
    • Manage shipment data accurately in Navisphere.
    • Provide pricing quotes and track shipments.
    • Ensure data integrity within shipments.
  • Facilitate Relationships:
    • Build strong customer relationships.
    • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Promote positive working relationships within the team.

Other Activities:

  • Maintain and adhere to customer SOPs.
  • Comply with CHR, local, and global laws and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1-3 years of Global Forwarding experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English (written and verbal) for site-specific roles.

Preferred:

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field (site-specific).
  • Knowledge or coursework in Supply Chain, Logistics, or International Business (site-specific).
  • Experience with customs procedures and formalities (site-specific).
  • Excellent communication, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
  • Strong customer service and follow-up skills.
  • Track record of client-focused interactions.
  • Critical-thinking, flexibility, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to influence the shipping process lifecycle (site-specific).
  • Fluent in the local language and ability to speak multiple European languages (site-specific).
